Meet our Fund Managers
Hamilton Lane is a leading US-based private equity manager, with a global footprint. Hamilton Lane have been investing in mission-driven companies and developing portfolio solutions for their clients since 2001, now managing in excess of US$4 billion in committed impact capital. Hamilton Lane’s impact fund series focuses on the core sectors of Healthcare, Energy & Environment, Community Development and Financial Empowerment.
Australia’s largest dedicated impact fund manager, Conscious Investment Management (CIM) have invested capital in a range of areas including social and affordable housing, specialist disability accommodation, renewable power, and social impact bonds. To date, CIM have deployed $330 million with the backing of over 750 investors and 12 impact partners who have aligned missions and expertise.
Virescent Ventures invests in founders, technologies, and businesses that help achieve zero emissions. Born out of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Virescent are Australia’s most experienced early-stage climate technology investor having deployed over $270 million in leading climate-tech companies.
Meet our Speakers

Jérôme Kamm
Vice President, Hamilton Lane
Jérôme is the Vice President on the Direct Equity Investment team, based in London. He works on the origination, evaluation and due diligence of direct equity opportunities, with a focus on Impact transactions, which he leads in EMEA. He sits as a board observer for several of Hamilton Lane's direct equity investments across business services, environmental & industrial technology and healthcare sectors.
Hamilton Lane operate a series of Impact Funds; Impact Fund I, the 2019 vintage fund, is fully committed across 17 investments and has generated significant impact and performance to date, including early distributions totalling 45% of invested capital. Impact Fund II, the 2021 vintage fund, is 90% committed and reserved across 19 investments, which have generated meaningful impact and a 34% median revenue CAGR across the portfolio to date. In March 2024, Hamilton Lane launched Impact Fund III targeting $600 million in total commitments. First close was completed in mid-October at $110 million with an opportunity for Australian investors to access the vehicle likely in Q125 (similar to Fund II).

Matt Tominc
CIO, Conscious Investment Management
Matt is the founder and Chief Investment Officer at Conscious Investment Management, Australia’s largest dedicated impact investment fund manager – with >$400million in committed capital. Prior to founding CIM, Matt managed the impact investment mandate of Light Warrior Group – a Melbourne-based family office, investing a significant pool of capital across a range of global strategies. Prior to Light Warrior Matthew worked in M&A advisory at Goldman Sachs.
Conscious Investment Management has been a pioneer in Australian impact markets – in particular across the social and affordable housing asset class. In Victoria, Conscious was the first-mover in private capital investment in social housing back in 2019 – and are currently developing innovative financing models around nature restoration and first nations land ownership. They currently operate an open-ended diversified impact investment vehicle (‘The Impact Fund’) and are reaching final close on their second social housing fund (‘CIM Social Housing Fund 2’) which has in excess of $110m in commitments.

Ben Gust
Managing Partner, Virescent Ventures
Ben has more than 20 years’ experience in venture capital, including as Managing Director of GBS Venture Partners, one of Australia’s leading lifescience venture capital firms.
Virescent recently reached a $100m first close of their second climate technology investment fund with some of Australia’s largest public and private institutions investors in the new fund, including cornerstone investors Westpac and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). Fund II builds on the success of Fund 1 ($270m committed) which has generated ~24% gross IRR since January 2018 (6 years) across 34 investments.
